Advanced Integrated
Composite Tail Cone
project deals with aircraft composite structure
development and production
PAGE MAIN CONTENT
Today’s tailcones made of composite materials are heavy mainly because of the large number of requirements introduced by the equipment integration. They are also costly due primarily to the manufacturing cost of the double curvature stiffened structure (partly due to assembly constraints and partly to lay up constraints).
The state-of-the-art technologies in the ADVITAC project have been selected to address key project goals associated with lowered cost and lowered weight including automated processes, fastener less fully integrated structure, enhanced composite properties, new structures & architecture:
28th May 2009
ADVITAC Kick off meeting hosted by project coordinator Daher Aerospace in Montrichard, France.
25th May 2009
Official start date of EU FP7 project "ADVITAC" - Advanced Integrated Composite Tail Cone.
