RECOMET IMPEX

RECOMET is a Romanian SME created in April 2008. This new structure is endorsed by the Group CHASTAGNER experience and skills. RECOMET is linked with Group CHASTAGNER a French group of 300 people which has many skills particularly in metallic structure and composite tools and parts with large fabrication capacities. RECOMET mains activities are to develop composite parts and tools particularly for long sizes according to aeronautics and automotives demands.

Technical involvement in the proposal

RECOMET will design a tool able to support Z reinforcement. An RTD for the surface treatment of the mould in order to reduce the time of the release agent operation during the manufacture of a composite part and increase the life of the tool.

RECOMET will develop the manufacture process of dry composite preform stringers. For this task, RECOMET relies on an international patent currently in registration. This innovative process will permit a production time benefit and guarantee the lay up repetitiveness.

Part of the work is dedicated to the RTD of all the moulds for all the parts of the tail cone. The innovation is in the utilization of a composite tool in order to perform fibre placement and about the integration of many tail cone structure parts like stringers and frames. This constituent integration approach is considered to reduce the manufacture cost of a composite tail cone especially reducing manufacture step. This functions integration in composite tool needs lot of RTD and tests due to complexity of the mould. RECOMET wants to be a leader in composite tools and with his engineering is able to develop this kind of tools.

Work will also be dedicated to validate the fibre placement on a composite tool and to determine the real consequence of fibre placement strain on a composite tool.

Previous Experience relevant to these tasks

Group CHASTAGNER will do a technological transfer to Romania and the activities of RECOMET for 2008-2009 will be: manufacture of composite tools and parts for aeronautic and automotive industries. To start the Romanian activity, a French support with particularly the French composite manufacturer company CARL (company of Group CHASTAGNER) is necessary so as to organize the company and to consolidate the activity in order to be self working in half 2009.

For aeronautics industry, RECOMET will make master models and tools which process is prepreg carbon epoxy tools in order to support up to 300 autoclave cycles cure (200°C, 5bars). For automotive industry, RECOMET makes autoclave prepreg carbon epoxy parts for competition in job lot and prototype contact moulding parts in carbon or glass epoxy under vacuum for design validation. Its developments axes will be long sizes tools and models for aeronautics particularly with an investment in a 15m long autoclave.
