Project Timeline

Starting from an analysis of the state of the art, a complete specification (process and calculation criteria) regarding the tailcone will be selected, consisting of a preliminary architecture as well as a design and process for its production. This milestone will be validated by a list of deliverables describing the “classical” tailcone.

From the description of the “classical” tailcone, the project will propose a set of solutions allowing weight reduction and cost saving. This will be applied and measured during the full scale process validation phase with real evaluation of the production cost which achieve up to a 30% cost reduction and 10% weight reduction compared to the “classical” tailcone.

A range of tests including lightning strikes, loading and others will be implemented in order to validate the agreement with the technical specifications defined in WP2.

The figure shows an overview of the project timeline as well as the critical milestones for each work package.
